Temecula Valley cultive des raisins de cuve depuis la fin des années 1700. Toutefois, il a fallu 200 ans de plus avant que l’industrie ne prenne réellement son envol, et la région s’est vu accorder le statut d’AVA en 1984. Son climat étant tempéré par le brouillard côtier, cette région chaude est mieux connue pour ses cépages d'Italie et du Rhône – et pour son Balloon and Wine Festival annuel (festival de montgolfières et de vins).
